Lifetime Contribution to Sport

WELLINGTON COMMUNITY TRUST LIFETIME CONTRIBUTION TO SPORT

 

Open to an individual to honour their past and/or present contributions to sport.

– Those who have previously received this award will not be eligible. Minimum of 20 year service to an organisation or a sport (although under special circumstances, an exemption to the eligibility criteria will be considered)
– For service as administrator, coach, manager, official, event manager or other service to sport
– Only individual nominations will be accepted
– Volunteers, paid staff, amateurs and professionals are all eligible for the award
– The nominee must have clearly demonstrated loyalty to the Wellington region
– Time, success, impact of service and development of local talent are all factors which will be considered by the judges
– Nominees under consideration for the awards must be a ‘Wellingtonian’ as per the criteria (a), (b), or (c) below:

(a) Through residency in the greater Wellington region during the qualifying period
(b) Through representing the Wellington region or a Wellington based club in their chosen discipline during the qualifying period
(c) Through being commonly acknowledged as a Wellingtonian (including the Wairarapa, Kapiti, Porirua and Hutt Valley) although not regularly resident in the region due to the demands of their sporting career
