VERTIA CLUB OF THE YEAR
Open to any sports club who displays outstanding impact in and on the community.
Strong clubs will exhibit the following characteristics:
– Having a club/business plan
– Alignment to the national / regional bodies program (e.g. whole of sport approach)
– Evidence of volunteer management strategies (attract, develop, retain)
– Evidence of financial sustainability / viability
– Sound leadership (role descriptions for committee and key club roles, robust governance practices)
– Community engagement (e.g. with other clubs, schools, sponsors, external stakeholders or community groups)
– Coach development processes in place
– Female and male, junior and senior membership of the club
– Any awards achieved (recognition of best practice)
– Competition outcomes (across the entire club structure)
– Retention and growth of membership
– Achievements by nominees will only be considered if they have occurred during the qualifying period 12 April 2016 to 17 April 2017
